It's only natural to think of music when heading to Montgomery, Alabama. After all, this is where Hank Williams started out, and there's even a museum in town dedicated to the memory of old Luke The Drifter. Can't say that about any other place. It's also becoming increasingly more natural to think of Super Chevys in Montgomery, as year after year we get to see the finest Bow-Ties from all over the South. This year we even had the pleasure of having our old friend, Steve Reyes, capture these extra-sharp Chevys on film. We don't get to see Steve enough. For those of you who might not know, Steve will soon be inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame, so far the only photographer to receive that honor. In a career spanning 30 years or more of capturing the best race action and show cars in the country, Steve's work has shown up in numerous books and magazines, and he certainly deserves the Hall of Fame. We'll bring you more on this in months to come.
Our Nitro Coupe final was memorable. Both competitors, Dan Nickelson and Jim Nordhougen, went up in flames. Even though Nordhougen's damage was the most extensive, he was able to cross the finish line first, allowing the Colorado Kid to hold on to his season series lead. He'll need some heavy R&R, though, before the next event.
